Here are some of the success stories of our organization: 

Kākoʻo Maui Resource Center

6,000 individuals assisted at the Resource Center. This resource center provides a collaborative and cultural approach to help those impacted by the August 8th, 2023 Maui Wildfires with access to direct aid and services.

Kākoʻo Maui Housing Options

900 individuals housed and counting through the Host Housing Support Program and Kākoʻo Maui Housing Program providing short- and long-term rental options.  

CNHA Builds

The Maui Interim Housing Plan, built upon the unprecedented collaboration between the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement, State of Hawai’i, County of Maui, Hawai’i Community Foundation, FEMA, and the American Red Cross to build the first set of mid-term affordable rental options, beginning with Ke Ao Maluhia at Maui Lani and Laʻikū at Lahainaluna.  CNHA has committed to building 126 affordable rental units to benefit the Maui wildfire impacted community.

Kākoʻo Maui Distribution Center

9,000 donation kits distributed by the Kākoʻo Maui Distribution Center, 6,000 air purifiers distributed to occupied households around the fire impact zone, and 397 homes furnished for fire survivors leaving non-congregate shelters.

Emergency Fund Assistance

Administered over 13,000 households in Emergency Funds Assistance, providing rental, mortgage and utility relief to residents throughout the state of Hawaiʻi. 

Pop-Up Mākeke

Provided space in e-commerce at our Pop Up Mākeke for over 100 native Hawaiian and locally owned businesses. 

KūHana

Currently starting our 13th cohort for our KūHana Business Program, helping to incubate Hawaiʻi-owned businesses to the next level.

CNHA Loan Fund

Managed over 130 loans for small business, micro small business, home repair, debt consolidation, Hawaiian Homestead construction and ADU.

Hawaiian Trades Academy

Operated 42 academies with 846 graduates through our Hawaiian Trades Academy, helping to place individuals in jobs such as fire, police, CDL-A license jobs, HAZWOPPER and more.  Our accelerated courses certify residents and prioritize local hires.
