This resource center will provide a collaborative and cultural approach to help those impacted by the August 8th, 2023 Maui Wildfires with access to direct aid and services.

Services Provided at the Resource Center
The hub will host both non-profit service providers and representatives from various county, state and federal agencies, on a rotating basis:

Our team of care navigators are available to assist impacted community members with accessing resources, completing applications while providing advocacy and support.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the United States Small Business Administration have been deployed to Maui to assist families impacted by the 2026 Kona Low storms.

Through our partnerships with Native Hawaiian Legal Corporation, Pono Legal and the Legal Aid Society of Hawai'i, referrals for assistance can be made for a variety of legal issues including land title concerns, insurance claims, worker's rights, probate and trust administration, immigration and FEMA appeals pro bono.

Services Provided at the Resource Center

Federal assistance is available to eligible individuals and families affected by this disaster. CTHA and Direct Lease Assistance and Case Management is available at the Center.

Indirectly and directly impacted indivduals are eligible to utilize our center for application assistance. Scanners are available for document uploads to applications.

Referrals to community mental health providers may be provided based on the availability of our team of volunteer mental health professionals.

Assistance from FEMA, Hawaii Interim Housing Program, and Kākoʻo Maui Housing Navigators.

The use of the space after hours of operation shall be related to wildfire recovery efforts and for the sole purpose of the operation of a recovery satellite office for community outreach and engagement activities, assistance, meetings, workshops and other support services. Use may also be scheduled for non-profit organizations displaced by the fire for meetings and workshops.

Kākoʻo Maui Lease Program
CNHA rental assistance and placement. Often, these units are more expensive than what most people can afford. We will work with you to determine how much you can afford, and assist you with potentially qualifying for rental assistance from FEMA and other philanthropic sources.

Kākoʻo Maui Distribution Center
Open to those directly impacted by the wildfires. If you or someone you know have been impacted by the Maui Wildfires, our Kākoʻo Distribution Team is here to assist you.

Laʻikū
Within Lahainaluna, La’ikū presents a community of 16 cozy modular homes, each spanning just under 600 square feet and featuring two bedrooms. Units are in process and will be available intermittently, as units become available our team will reach out to applicants.

Ke Ao Maluhia
Nestled beneath the Fairways at Maui Lani development in Central Maui, Ke Ao Maluhia presents a community of 50 cozy modular homes, each spanning just under 600 square feet and featuring two bedrooms. Units are in process and will be available intermittently, as units become available our team will reach out to applicants.

Kākoʻo Maui Pre-Development Grant
This program is available to Lahaina and Kula homeowners whose primary residence was destroyed or deemed uninhabitable due to the August 8, 2023 wildfires. Approved households are eligible to receive up to $15,000 in funding to cover pre-development needs that are necessary to rebuild your primary residence.

DHHL Wildfire Relief Program
For Native Hawaiian families who are unable to pay rent and utilities due to the wildfires on Maui and Hawai’i Island. In partnership with the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL), we are providing emergency rental assistance to Native Hawaiian families eligible to reside on Hawaiian Home Lands, including Lessees, Undivided Interest Lessees, and applicants on the DHHL Waiting List.

CARE Flights: August 2024-December 2025
Alaska Airlines will donate 180 roundtrip tickets monthly to any destination it serves, offering travel opportunities for qualifying families at their convenience. Last day to apply is July 31st, 2024
