A Partnership Between Hawai'i Energy and the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement
Hawaiʻi Energy and CNHA are partnering to provide qualifying Lahaina residents with the
MAUI RESIDENTIAL REBUILD PROGRAM
Available assistance includes:
No-Cost, ENERGY STAR® Certified Appliances for the most vulnerable and impacted households.
Enhanced Rebates for a wide range of energy-efficient measures to help all eligible applicants rebuild sustainably.
Enhanced rebates for energy-efficient upgrades are available to a broader group of eligible applicants rebuilding their homes. This can include:
Homeowners in affected zip codes (96761, 96767, 96790).
Those participating in specific rebuilding projects like Ke Ao Maluhia, Kawaipapa, and La'ikū.
Custom rebuilding projects pre-approved by Hawai'i Energy.
Enhanced Rebates

To qualify for no-cost appliances, applicants must be vetted by CNHA and meet criteria demonstrating significant need. This includes:
Eligibility will be given to homeowners whose rebuilds or property remediations are finished with an enclosed frame with walls and a roof.
*This offer is currently extended exclusively to homeowners who lost their primary residence in the 2023 Maui Wildfires and are rebuilding at the same address.

Download the official application form to begin the process or visit us at one of our resource centers for in-person assistance.

Fill out the main application (Steps 1-6) and Appendix A if you are seeking enhanced rebates for other energy-efficient measures.

Submit the completed forms and any required supporting documents to Kākoʻo Maui Resource Center staff for review. See contact details below.

CNHA and Hawai'i Energy will verify your eligibility. This may include inspections for custom projects.

Once approved, no-cost appliances and/or rebates will be processed and distributed.
What You Can Receive
Qualified applicants may receive a package of no-cost, ENERGY STAR® certified appliances to help furnish their new homes efficiently and affordably.
